That's why, at The Culture of Leadership, our business improvement framework is P.R.O.C.E.S.S.  After 25+ years in leadership roles covering many business improvement projects, our world first P.R.O.C.E.S.S. system has been built from the ground up based on 'real-life' experience and a perpetual cycle of continuous improvement.

 A critical first step in the PLAN stage involves answering the question, 'what problem are we trying to solve?' Getting clarity on this helps determine the scope of the improvement opportunity and determine what resources may be needed. The PLAN stage helps ensure alignment across the team to work together on solving the problem.

During the REVIEW stage, we will learn about the current process. This will involve gathering data and analysing the data to better understand where the problems occur.  Once we understand the various elements of the process, we can move to the OBSERVE stage.

During the OBSERVE stage, we will watch and learn how the current process works and link this to the data we have gathered and analysed during the REVIEW stage. The best improvement opportunities happen after observation of the actual process being done. During this stage possible solutions will be established.

During the CHECK stage, we will test out the solutions developed during the OBSERVE stage. Testing potential solutions allows for any adjustments to be made to ensure the most appropriate solution is chosen to be implemented.

Once a solution has been chosen, it's time to implement it. The EVALUATE stage involves measuring and analysing how the chosen solution is performing. This will help decide whether further adjustments are needed prior to rolling out the improvement more broadly.  

The SET stage is focused on rolling out the solution to everyone who uses it. Setting a standard is the basis of all improvement. The SET stage also involves educating and training the team in the new standard process.

The ability to SUSTAIN the improvement is the final and most critical stage of the P.R.O.C.E.S.S. If it isn't done well, the newly implemented solution will slowly creep back to the old, error riddled one. To help SUSTAIN the new improvement, measures will be put in place to control and manage the improvement.
